Get your business running like a Ferrari

Is your business a Ferrari running on premium fuel?

When was the last time your business had a mechanical check?

Ever considered business coaching?

A client of mine recently decided to put our coaching sessions on hold and when I asked him why, he said: I feel like I have a Ferrari in the garage but I haven’t been able to take it for a spin… He went on to say that he felt he wasn’t able to use me to his full advantage, because he was busy working day to day in the business…

My gentle reply was: I am not the Ferrari, you are – I’m the mechanic that checks on you regularly and makes sure you are geared up and ready for the next challenge ahead. I’m your business coach and I am here for business guidance and support, but I will wait for you to take the action!

A business coach is there to help you work out what is standing in the way of creating the business you really want. For my client, this was a light bulb moment because he realised he hadn’t truly allocated time to work ‘on’ the business.

It doesn’t matter what type of business you’re in, a business coach can assist you in grasping core principles and underlying strategies to help your business grow and power through the next tour! But, it’s up to you to make sure you get the Ferrari to the mechanics on time.

This brings me to the important difference between a coach and a consultant:

You need to feel a connection with your coach, if you don’t like them or trust them, then the coaching process won’t work at all. Coaches are different to consultants in this regard. A consultant completes a task you have paid them for and leaves, you don’t need to like them really. A coach on the other hand, is someone who is able to diagnose systemic issues within your business, but is able to empower you to discover the solution yourself. A great coach is also really good at holding you to your goals!

A great coach is patient but tough, kind but stern, empowering and invaluable.

At Birdie Business, I won’t tell you what to do; I’ll simply show you possible ways you may take your business to reach your goals. I’ll show you areas where you could focus on and then empower you to take the action.
